Exhausted!

I know we've only been home one day... why are we exhausted already?? We didn't get much sleep while Georgia was in the NICU. I had to pump every three hours, even through the night and my sweet husband would get up with me each time, I'm still in a lot of pain from the c-section. We weren't able to catch up on sleep during the day because we were sitting in the NICU all day and usually until pretty late at night. Finally home, now we can relax and sleep when Georgia sleeps!

Welcome Home!!

She's home!!!

This is all she does... sleep!

NICU, Day 9... Going Home!!

She's coming home!!!! Georgia just needs to pass the car seat challenge... one hour in her car seat maintaining her temp., etc.

She passed!! We are on our way home!! Notice the monitor behind my head is blank... Georgia isn't hooked up to monitors any more!! Although I am so excited to take her home, I am a little nervous. She is so safe her in the NICU, it's like this safe little bubble away from the world. We also loved all of Georgia's nurses, they made our experience a wonderful one, one that could have been a lot harder without their kindness! Georgia is leaving the hospital with some strict rules... she can't leave the house for 30 days and can't have visitors.

All buckled in and ready to go home!!

We're getting close! It looks like Georgia will get to come home tomorrow. There are a few things we need to do before they can discharge her. Lance and I need to watch a car seat video and do some CPR training. Georgia needs to pass a car seat challenge.

NICU, Day 7

Auntie Heather and Baby G!

Georgia getting weighed to see if she's getting enough to eat.
Yay!!! Georgia's new bed... she has moved out of the isolette and into this new bed. This means she is able to keep her temperature where it should be on her own. Way to go G!

Georgia's sign above her bed, her NICU nurses made it for her.

NICU, Day 6

How cute is she?? She's wearing her own clothes now. We were able to bring in clothes from home to dress Georgia in. She finally looks like a girl!!! When we got to the hospital today the feeding tube was out! Thankfully it wasn't in for very long!

I'm in love...

NICU, Day 5

Today was a hard day. We saw Georgia with a feeding tube for the first time. This made me feel like we were taking steps back instead of making improvements. I just want to bring this little girl home with me and snuggle her without all the tubes, wires and machines!!!

Her poor little feet. Some of this tubes used to be attached on her hand. She has a bruise there now since they have been moved to her feet. They prick her heel several times a day to test her blood sugar level. Her poor little heel is pretty banged up.

NICU, Day 4

Little Miss Georgia is still in the NICU. Unfortunately, I have been discharged so Lance and I went home this afternoon without our sweet baby girl. She is still working to keep her blood sugar levels up and her temp up. She has also developed an infection and has to be on antibiotics. Kelly and Kristin came over to visit with Jack so I took them to the hospital to visit Georgia.

Auntie Krissy!

Jack stayed home with Grammy and Uncle Lance while the rest of us went to visit Georgia.
