NICU, Day 4

Little Miss Georgia is still in the NICU. Unfortunately, I have been discharged so Lance and I went home this afternoon without our sweet baby girl. She is still working to keep her blood sugar levels up and her temp up. She has also developed an infection and has to be on antibiotics. Kelly and Kristin came over to visit with Jack so I took them to the hospital to visit Georgia.

Auntie Krissy!

Jack stayed home with Grammy and Uncle Lance while the rest of us went to visit Georgia.

NICU, Day 1

After Georgia was born she came into our room, everything seemed to be perfect. Early Wednesday morning a nurse came to check her blood sugar level. It was low so the nurse took Georgia to the nursery to see if she could get it up. A few hours later the nurse returned with a nurse from the NICU. They had decided to take her to the NICU since her blood sugar levels were still low.

My first visit to the NICU... still VERY groggy from the c-section .

Uncle Kelly and cousin Jack came to meet Georgia... what a fun surprise!!

Welcome Georgia Catherine!

On April 20, 2010 I had a doctor's appointment at 10:45 am. Lance was out of town on a business trip so Heather decided to come with me. I was scheduled to have an ultrasound and she wanted to come to see the baby. After waiting in the doctor's office for awhile I was finally taken in to have an ultrasound. I thought everything looked good however there were some things wrong with the baby that I wasn't made aware of yet. From there I sat down to have my blood pressure taken, the nurse looked at me and asked if I wanted to have a baby today. I said no... my husband wasn't even in town!! Once I saw the doctor he admitted me to the hospital for overnight observation and suggested my husband catch a plane home immediately. Thankfully Heather was with me. I was admitted to the hospital around 1:00 in the afternoon. After seeing a specialist and some observation my doctor decided the baby needed to come out.... without Lance... even though he was only a few minutes away. Heather was there to support and encourage me and did a great job!!! Georgia Catherine was born at 6:32 pm by emergency c-section... Lance arrived 15 minutes later. Little Miss Georgia weighed 4lbs. 9oz. and was 17 inches long.

Happy 8th Birthday, Mackenzie!

We celebrated Mackenzie's 8th birthday at Ruby's with lots of family. We tried to celebrate at Farrell's but it was so crowded. We ended up at Ruby's for the second year in a row. We'll try for Farrell's again next year!

American Girl Place

Mackenzie has been waiting and saving her money for a trip to American Girl Place. We were finally able to go for her birthday. It was so much fun... a trip to the doll salon, lunch and shopping!!!
