We drove away for a couple of days... I love spur-of-the-moment road trips to a new place with my hubby!! This weekend it was Solvang... lots of pics... lots of fun!!
We decided to do some wine tasting while in the area and I HAD to go to the Firestone Vineyard... if you remember Andrew Firestone is my all time favorite Bachelor!! I was a little disappointed to learn that the Firestone family no longer owns this vineyard... that meant absolutely no Andrew sitings... bummer!
The Firestones are still in the business though, dad Firestone owns a smaller vinyard called Curtis Winery.
Curtis Winery had a bottle of wine labeled Jarhead Red. When you buy this bottle proceeds go towards Marine Corps. families who've lost husbands and fathers. Of course we had to buy one!
Saarloos and Sons is a tasting house in Los Olivios. We stopped here because my friend Sarah is kind of related (it's a dutch thing) to the family. 
One of the Saarloos sons plays baseball and spent some time with the A's... this makes them an automatic favorite!
This is Keith Saarloos, another son, he and I went to Azusa at the same time.... another reason this one is a fav.
How adorable is this cupcake trailor... I think you can rent it and have it come to your party... how fun would that be??!!
We're kind of dorks... we watched Sideways our first night in town since it took place in Solvang and surrounding areas.
